Serpentine Belt Replacement

The serpentine belt is a long winding belt that keeps your alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning and in some cases your water pump running in a smooth and effective manner.

Automatic Belt Tensioner

Many vehicles have an automatic belt tensioner that may need to be replaced when the serpentine belt is replaced.  The automatic belt tensioner is designed to hold a predetermined amount of tension on the serpentine belt so it functions properly.

Air Filters

The air filter protects insects, dust, dirt, grime, pollen, particles, sand and other debris from reaching the engine and ensures a good mixture of air and fuel to support engine performance.  There are many signs of an air filter that needs to be replaced:

  • The most common sign is that the air filter looks dirty
  • Gas mileage decreases
  • The engine misses or misfires
  • Some strange engine noises
  • Check engine light comes on
  • A reduction in horsepower
  • Strong fuel smell
  • Flames or black smoke from the exhaust pipe

Radiator Hose Replacement

Radiator hoses connect the radiator inlet to the thermostat housing or water outlet on the engine, and connects the radiator outlet to the water pump.  Radiator hoses are instrumental in maintaining the proper flow of water temperature.  A broken or cracked radiator hose can lead to an engine overheating leading to extreme engine repair costs.  It is a prudent preventative maintenance action to have your radiator hoses examined when replacing a vehicle battery, belt, fuses or other automotive work done.
